Summary: Although only a few inches thick, the Bible is treasured by many millions worldwide as the revealed Word of God. It covers hundreds, probably thousands, of topics. Some of them have been labeled “controversial.” But often people define them as controversial simply because their own personal interpretation, although deeply held, is contrary to that of others.
I will grant this: none of us can claim to have perfect knowledge of the holy Scriptures. But that should not prevent us from digging deeply into God’s Word to see within the Bible many truths that He has clearly revealed. Below I have links to some sermons and Bible studies I have written on topics that some believers consider disputable. I submit them humbly for your consideration. The Bible is truth — “Thy word is truth,” said Jesus (John 17:17). And God has not made the vast majority of it mysterious, but rather quite open and clear, if we approach the Scriptures with open hearts and minds and ask the Holy Spirit’s guidance as we read them.
You’re welcome to skim down the list. I’m confident you’ll find more than one topic that will stir your interest. Enjoy your study of His holy Word, and may the Lord grant you clarity and understanding in your hearts and minds. It’s your God-given prerogative to look into these biblical subjects and to check for yourself in God’s Word, with the Holy Spirit's personal guidance to you, to see if these things are so. May God bless and guide your study.
Some Bible topics are considered controversial because believers interpret certain passages differently or emphasize different aspects of Scripture. However, many issues become clearer through careful study of the Bible in context and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
