Summary: Although only a few inches thick, the Bible is treasured by many millions worldwide as the revealed Word of God. It covers hundreds, probably thousands, of topics. Some of them have been labeled “controversial.” But often people define them as controversial simply because their own personal interpretation, although deeply held, is contrary to that of others.

I will grant this: none of us can claim to have perfect knowledge of the holy Scriptures. But that should not prevent us from digging deeply into God’s Word to see within the Bible many truths that He has clearly revealed. The Bible is truth — “Thy word is truth,” said Jesus (John 17:17). And God has not made the vast majority of it mysterious, but rather quite open and clear, if we approach the Scriptures with open hearts and minds and ask the Holy Spirit’s guidance as we read them.
