Coronavirus (COVID) Can Be Healed Spiritually

Summary: There is a cure for coronavirus. Medical professionals worldwide are working overtime seeking a vaccine [January, 2021 edit: and some vaccines are now available]. Wise sanitation and social-distancing procedures are being used widely. I thank the doctors and researchers for their diligent work. But there’s already a cure that has been around for 1,000s of years:
I’m a grateful beneficiary of God’s willingness to heal. My wife had a medically diagnosed infertility condition for the first six years of our marriage. Much prayer to God for healing was offered for her, and in the 7th year of our marriage the first of our four now-adult children was born! We had the before-and-after medical records documenting the healing, without medical intervention, of the condition causing her infertility. The “Lord Your Healer” can be just as powerful against COVID-19 (the coronavirus), if you’ll follow biblical principles in approaching Him for your healing.
Exodus 15:26
Ten plagues from God were inflicted upon the idolatrous, ancient nation of Egypt, which had enslaved Israel for hundreds of years. Some of those plagues directly affected the Egyptians’ physical bodies. Then God delivered Israel from their Egyptian captivity and gave them some healing promises. These same promises of healing are available to us today if we follow the principles for healing that God gave to ancient Israel in the verses above.
- • Listen carefully to the Lord your God
- • Do what is right in His eyes.
- • Pay attention to His commands.
- • Keep all His decrees.
- • Worship the Lord your God.
To His people who worship, serve, and obey Him (then and today!), God promises:
- • “I will not bring on you any of the diseases” inflicting those ancient Egyptians.
- • “I am the Lord, who heals you.”
- • “I will take sickness away from among you.”
- • “I will give you a full life span.”
God has not changed over the past several thousand years. His Word the Bible (Malachi 3:6, NLT) says of Him: “I am the LORD, and I do not change.” He was “the Lord who heals you” for His people 3,500 years ago. And He is still the healing God for His faithful people today. And that includes healing of COVID-19, the coronavirus causing the worldwide pandemic as I write this on March 16, 2020. What is God saying to you? — Worship Him, listen to and keep His commands, and do what is right in His eyes. The result (for coronavirus or any other illness): “I am the Lord who heals you … I will take sickness away from among you … I will give you a full life span.” God is faithful to His promises!
Sickness and disease are devilish, destructive, oppressive. The devil, Satan, is an oppressor; Jesus the Son of God is a Healer. Jesus, God the Father’s divine Son, came from heaven to earth 2,000 years ago to die for our sins, to be raised from the dead, and to return to heaven where He reigns today at the right hand of God the Father (1 Corinthians 15:2-4 and Hebrews 1:3).
Thankfully, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). While on earth two millennia ago, He healed every disease and sickness among the people (Matthew 9:35). And today from heaven He still heals every disease and sickness among those who look to Him in simple faith. He is “the same” Healer today as He was then, as recorded in the four Gospels.
Are you living in fear of this virus that is spreading across our planet? Of course I agree with the current recommendations springing from natural wisdom — such things as proper sanitation, keeping “social distance” and the like. But I strongly recommend also that you look to God the Father, through His Son Jesus Christ (John 14:6), and ask Him in simple faith to touch you and to preserve you with His healing power. In His willing self-sacrifice on the Cross for us, Jesus “took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses” (Matthew 8:17, NKJV), so that we don’t need to walk around sick and infirm. As the apostle Peter wrote, “By His wounds you have been healed” (1 Peter 2:24). Jesus died for your sins and for your sicknesses. Receive His free gifts of salvation and physical healing. He loves you so much that He died to provide those for you!
In closing, if God’s Holy Spirit is speaking to your heart that you’re lacking that relationship with Jesus the Savior and Healer, you can change that for life and eternity in the next few minutes.
